Beach Better Have My Suntan {Super Easy Beach Bag DIY}

I'd like to think of myself as the queen of turning expensive products into cheap DIYs. Need proof? See here, here, or here.

When I saw McKenna post this Fallon & Royce tote, I was obsessed.

However, $60 for a canvas tote is not my style. So I headed into Michael's on the hunt to DIY it.

I found these adorable iridescent sequin iron-on letters (check for a coupon! they usually have 40% off!), but no luck for decent canvas bag that didn't look cheap.

After searching the internet for the perfect canvas tote, I gave up when I stumbled upon this hot pink striped beauty for $14 with free shipping.

The process for the DIY was so so simple. Just follow these instructions:

  • Pop out the sequin letters and position them as you'd like.
  • Place a cloth over the sequin letters and apply the iron for 15-30 seconds on the front of the bag. This doesn't secure the letters, just keeps them in place.
  • Flip the bag over and apply the iron directly to the backside of the bag for 30 seconds. This will secure the letters.
  • I found that some of the letters still weren't fully secured, so re-iron over them as needed.
